What Type of Steel Are Circular Saw Blades Made from?

A circular saw blade is a versatile tool that can be used for various tasks, including cutting through tough materials. With properly hardened, sharpened, covered, and polished, which can make circular saw blade so efficient. Appropriate material selection, especially the steel of the saw blank, is the key to good use of saw blade.

For tungsten carbide tipped saws a high chrome, high carbon steel is used (75 Cr1). This can be used for plate saws as well.

Another option that we use particularly for applications needing higher crack resistance for larger blades and slightly harder blades is 80CrV2, which has a higher carbon content and an addition of vanadium.

Most of saw blank made of high carbon steel or even a combination of other steel, depending on the purpose of the blade.
